HAVE A 70 MALIBU ,JUST HAVING A HARD TIME DECIDING WETHER TO GO WITH THE 295'S ON THE 15X10 OR THE 275'S ON THE 15X8. I'VE READ ALL THE POSTS ABOUT THIS AND HEARD THAT THE 15X10 ARE TO WIDE AND HAVE A FUNNY SIDEWALL LOOK. I WANT THE WIDEST TIRE OUT BACK WITH NO MODS TO THE LIP. I KNOW ABOUT ALL THE BACKSPACES JUST DONT HAVE ANY PICTURES TO COMPARE WHAT THE DIFFERENCE IN THE TWO LOOK LIKE. ANY PICS WOULD BE GREAT, AND I'M LEANING TOWARD 15X10 WITH 5.5BS, BUT I DONT WANT ANY MODS . SOME SAY THEY HAVE NO PROBLEMS, SOME SAY A LITTLE GOING OVER A BUMP, I HAVE TERRIBLE LUCK SO SHOULD I STAY AWAY FROM THE 295'S. THANKS ALOT!!! graemlins/clonk.gif graemlins/clonk.gif

I would think you have about a 95% chance that the 295 on 10" rim is going to rub. I've heard guys say they made this combination work, but not without trimming the inner fender lip. You've got the right backspacing.

I appreciate all your help!! So I'd probably be better off going with a 275/60/15 on a 15x8 with 4.5b.s. Sound right!! I didnt know you could put the 295 on a 8in. rim. (rookie) Will this give me a better chance of not rubbing, or does it just look better. The Elky looks great with em' back there. are the 275's just taller or what!!! Thanks for all you help guys!!!

I didnt know you could put the 295 on a 8in. rim. (rookie) Will this give me a better chance of not rubbing, or does it just look better. I know I have BFGoodrich TA's, 295-50/15, and when I checked, BFG suggested a rim between 8-11 inches (or something like that, but I know 8 inch was acceptible). Been using that size on my Chevelle for 9 years, no problems...
And no problems with how much tire sits on the pavement, etc...
are the 275's just taller or what!!! I only recall 295s in a 50 series, and 275 in a 60 or 70 series (no 275/50/15)...
Yes, the 275 are taller and a bit narrower. I don't know if the width would be thta noticable unless side-by-side, but the height is more noticable...
I have pictures of my 295s and 15X8s in my signature below, but not closeups...

Don't know about the 15" but 17"x10" with 295's fit. Have a look at the pics in my sig.
