What's the widest size tires the original Chevelles came with??
I know there are a lot of E78 G78 etc. sizes.. But what does that mean in today standards?

As far as I know the biggest tires were the '71 & '72 Chevelle's 235/60/15 (F60-15 in old school terms). The E78 would be about a 195/75/14, G78 about a 215/75/15, both fairly skinny, tallish tires.

How do i translate the size into today's terms?
I want to go to the DMV to change my tire size on the car's license papers.. and they don't allow wide tires here.. But i guess i am lucky! :D
Because my new rims are 15" and my new tires are 235/60 smile.gif So that's exactly the widest i can go..
Now how do i prove the DMV that F60-15 is 235/60/15?
Thanks in advance.
