Hi all:

I have a 72 Malibu with a modified 350. I picked it up a couple of weeks ago and just got it on the road after fixing some minor issues.
It has headers with dual exhaust.
When I start it up, I get some white smoke from the passenger side exhaust pipe. It only lasts a minute or two. After I drive it down the street, it goes away.
It does not really smell like oil or coolant.

I have not noticed any coolant in the oil or anything else out of the ordinary.

A buddy told me that it may just be moisture or condensation in the exhaust.

Should I be concerned?

Thank you for the help.

Could be just condensation, or could be oil via the valve stem seals.

If it runs cool, and does not use coolant, it may just be clearing out.

However, you may want to pull the plugs and see if any are super clean from coolant leaking into the cylinder, and run a compression test.

If compresson is good, and there's no coolant loss, press on for a while and monitor it.

I will be changing the plugs this week.
I will check them and do a compression test.

Thanks for the help.
