I read in an old issue of car craft that in 68/69 a-bodies you could run 17x9.5 in the front and 17x11 in the rear with 315/35 tires....is this true? the pro-touring look really grows on you anyone with fitment help feel free to help me....thanks all!!! graemlins/beers.gif

I'm running 17x9's w/5" backspacing and 275/40/17 tires on the front of my 69 El Camino protourer. It's a snug fit but so far,so good. Am running 17x13's w/7" backspace with 335/35/17's on the rear but my car has been back-halfed so that tire and wheel combo won't fit on a stock-framed Chevelle or Elky. I've heard of people running 17x11 wheels w/6.25" backspace and 315/35/17 tires on 68-72's but the body has to be square on the frame. Even then,it's a very fug snit. :D
17x10's with 6" backspacing and 315/35/17 tires should fit ok,too.
