I am debating weather to by a stock alternator or the one wire alternator, I have heard mixed reviews on the one wire alternator, any one have one?

Put one in a 68. Eliminated a lot of wiring and did a better job of regulating the voltage, especially at idle.

Zach;

Get a 105 amp "CS" alternator!!! I put one in my 64 wagon and it's fantastic!

If you go to the "technical reference" section of this site, under "alternator conversions", you will find all the information.

This is very easy and reliable setup. I've done several cars and jeeps. Mid eighties V8s alternators work well.
Good Luck

I have an East Coast one wire. Works great and supplys a lot more power. My friend has one too. I highly recommend one.

Zach,
I agree with the above. Put a CS 105 amp in my 65 SS Coupe with factory air and dual electric cooling fans. It maintains good voltage even at idle. You can eliminate some extra wire clutter too. I changed the one wire to a # 10 and tied it directly to the + terminal. If you give me your fax # I'll send you the fact sheet for it.
