I have a 67 Malibu with 14" rally wheels in great shape, but need new tires. I like the wheels, but just recently went to the Goodguys show and it seems most cars were running 15" wheels. Should I buy new 15"wheels/tires or just new 14" tires? If so what is the widest 14" I can get without mods? Another thing I plan to swap to front disk brakes, another can of worms!!
2" drop , 12" rotors, etc, etc
I would like to keep the rally wheels just dont want to buy 14" tires and find I need to buy 15" to accomodate front disk brakes. I like the slightly lowered look with big meats. Any help or opinions are appreciated!!!

Don't buy new 15's just because every other car had them. If you saw them on other cars, liked them better than your 14's and want them, then buy em. (One of those do to your car what YOU like not what everyone else likes kind of things) As far as the disk brakes go, you'll need the 15's to clear the calipers. So once thats complete you'll need the bigger wheels. So, I'd say if the disks are coming soon(like before you'll need tires again) get the 15's. If its one of those things you hope to get done some day, then either save the money and just get 14" tires or if you really liked the looks of 15's better then get the new wheels. smile.gif
Hope that helps!

your 14 inch ralleys might fit disk brakes look at the back side rim if it is flat it wont fit but if it angles to the inside beed it should fit

Newer 14" rally wheels will fit a stock type 11" disk brake setup since they were re-designed exactly for this. But, there is no way they will fit a 12" disk brake setup.

I must have missed the 12 inch rotor part
