Does any one of the disc brake conversion vendors sell a kit that will allow me to retain my stock 14" rims ???
I would like to have front discs, but havn't seen a set of 15" rims that look good on my 65.

I could be wrong but I *think* my Bro-in law just put a spacer about 3/8" - 1/2" thick behind the wheels and made them work

I'll have to ask him

it all depends on which 14" rims your running .. some fit the stock disc setup from the factory ... my el camino came with factory disc & 14" rallys stock so I know 14's & disc are posible but you need to check your rims as there are as many different offsets as there are sizes of tires..........

IF I am not mistaken BAER has a new system available that allows you to keep the 14's. Have you checked their website yet?

EDIT - I was mistaken - 15's

a stock 65 steel wheel will not fit with any disc brake setups. You probably want to run the SS hubcaps 'eh? We tried that on my cousins 65 and it was no dice, but we put some 17" intro vista wheels on the car which resemble the 5 spoke z-`6 hubcaps a little and it looks awesome!

Nooooooooo. well ya my SS hubcaps are in good shape and i like the look. I plan on finding a way to squeeze 7 or 8" wheels that will fit the hubcaps under my rear fender wells. the problem is finding a front 14" stock wheel and disc that will work together.

I use 14"x 6" rally wheels from a 67 Chevelle and my 14" 64 SS wheel covers.
I would think you could do the same with 65 SS wheel covers.
There is a yellow 66 Malibu here in San Jose with 14"x 7" GTO type 5 spoke rallys and 14" Malibu covers.

If you are putting hub caps on 71 and up 14 inch ralleys with square holes will fit disks and should be cheep.
