I own a 71 chevelle and am planning on buying 17" torq thrust 2. I would like to go with 275/40/R17 in the back and 245/45/R17 in the front. I need to know the proper backspacing, how wide of a rim should i go with in the back and in the front, and any other info needed to order the rims.

Have you done a search for this in Wheels & Tires? Theres alot of info out there. I just ordered a set of 17" wheels for my '72. I ordered 17x9.5 for the rear with 5.5" backspacing. The front 17x8 with 4 3/4 backspacing, but you can go with 4.5" in the front. I opted for 4 3/4 because of the B body spindle upgrade. You can go with 17x11 in the rear, but everyones says it is extremely tight. The tire sizes you have picked are perfect. The widest I've heard in the back is 315/35/17, but you're backspacing will change . Good luck.

I have the 17x8 in the front and 17x9.5 in the rear. Same size tire you're looking for with BFGs KDW G-Force.
