Anyone know if the these are manufactured with a 5.5" backspacing (17 x 9.5")? The web site spec page says it is but my supplier is telling me otherwise...

If you're talking about part# 2119-8980, Looks like it's 5.5" Bksp "plus" 8mm of positive offset.

So, 8mm is approx. .31 inches so the wheel is closer to 5.75" back spacing.

Just try ordering by the part number instead. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

UPDATE:
I called the Local distributor and he says there is only one of those wheels that he shows in stock. Some thing about re-tooling....behind on production....ect.

He has plenty of 2119-8878, which is a 17x8 4.5" bksp zero offset. These would work great all around.

Yes, that's the one. Seems like they are impossible to get. I considered the 8" wheel but don't think it would work so well with a 275/40 tire. Obviously a 15" rim will work with a tire this wide but not too sure on a 17" rim given the much reduced sidewall height...

Just called American Eagle direct and there is no availability and they could not tell me when they would be available. graemlins/angry.gif Now I have to pay a whole wack for TT2 customs.

I think the 5.5" bs listed is correct. If they calculate the same way ARE does a 9.5" wide rim (at the bead) would have 5.25" bs with zero offset - 9.5/2=4.75 and add approx 1/2" from the bead to the the outside of the rim for 5.25" bs. The +8mm offset (.31+) would make it 5.56" bs - close enough to what's advertised.

Kind of a moot point though if they have to tool up to make more of them.

American Racing has the 200S in a 17x9.5 w/5.5" bs - part number 200-79562. May be difficult to find but Wheels For Less (http://www.wheelsforless.com) has the 6.5" bs (79563) for $265 each to compare prices with. McCormack Racing (http://mccrace.phpwebhosting.com/wheels/index.php?details=Y&brandid=13) shows the 79562 wheel as well but no pricing.

Hey Dale, what is your opinion on using a 275 on a 17x8" wheel??? Am considering this route but wondering if this is a good idea or not...With such a short sidewall (40%) do you think the 8" would be adequate?
