Cheap and LS3 unfortunately do not go together. I am sure there are a few 64 A body swaps out there. Try surfin around LS1tech in the conversion forum.

Ls3's are still expensive now, but LS1&2's can be found reasonbly priced and still make big power.:beers:

I have been watching for even reasonable LS3's for 2 years and have not seen any blown ones. Closest thing I have seen was one that burned up in a 'vette. Nothing left of the car and they still wanted $2,500 for the motor.

I would be looking at L92 or LY6 truck motors if you want the new rectangle port heads. As others said plenty of power can be made on the Ls1/2/6 with the cathedral port heads.

Go over to ls1tech and read all the great info that they have on all the different combos you can make from the ls series of engines:D

Agreed. My heads and cam Ls1 turned ~30mpg on the hwy with 3.42 gears and a M12 ratio 6 speed in a 3,100lbs C5 while making 436rwhp (~515fwhp) A FAST intake with a 90mm throttle body would be in the 450rwhp range and a bigger cam would get over 460. My cam is on the smaller side now with 228/230 at .050.

The LS3/L92 heads will bolt on any LS based motor with a 4"+ bore (any 6.0, or 6.2). Getting a shortblock that came with the heads may help valve clearance. The Ls3 heads are a little more picky with valve timing on the cam.

AndrewB70 or ProjectGoTagO depending on the forum and Stealth71 had great topics on both Ls1tech and here. Pro-touring is another forum with loads of info. Andrew converted a truck 6.2 for the most part into a LS3. Ls1tech also has an A-body swap FAQ as a sticky.

If you are going to CB10, I can bring a rebuildable LS1 that I need to sell.

Standard disclaimer I know nothing about the owner or the motor.

I'm just beginning a LS swap into a '67 Malibu project...rounding up the parts now.
