I seem to have a lot of fuel pressure building up in the fuel tank. My older Honda hisses at you when you release the tank cap. But when I open the fuel cap on the Chevelle it hisses but you can also hear the fuel tank expanding from the release. Should I have a vent? I am certain the cap does not have a vent. Its carburated, I have a fuel tank sump, braided lines all the way up front, Fram filter and a low pressure Holley pump with 7psi on the gauge. thanks :hurray: Jerry

It should have a vent, Jerry... My '65 did that forever until I took out the vent tube (in the trunk) and found it was completely blocked... Ordered a replacement from Inline Tube and it was simple to install. I swear the car was running smoother after that, too. Gas not being pulled out of a vacuum and all..
What year is your ride?

Rich, Its a 1966 Malibu 396. So, you're not talking about a vented cap are you? Where did your vent tube start ( top of the tank, side ) and where did it end? Jerry

In mine there's a little curly tube that comes up through the trunk floor and goes back down. As you're looking into the trunk it's on the right hand side and pretty far up toward the back seat. I don't have a vented cap, either.
