: 265/50R15 on front?

Has anyone ever had 265/50R15s on the front. I currently have 235/50/R15(discontinued) on the front with 295/50R15s on the back. I'm sticking with the 295s on the back, but having trouble finding the right size rims on the front. I was going for 245/50 or 255/50 for the front, but can't find them with the same brand that carries the 295s. A tire shop suggested going 245/60, and keeping with 295s at 50. Would that look funky? So as a desire to keep that at 50s, I'm alternatively looking at 265/50R15s for the front.

This is for a 71 Chevelle Malibu with front inner fenders of course. These will be going on 15x8 rims with a 4.5" BSing.

I don't think the 245-60 would look bad at all. They would keep the front tires a little closer to the same height as the rears, (still shorter, but closer than what you had).

There is a 245-50 listed on the Tire Rack web site. They're Dunlop SP Sports and they get some good reviews there too.

You might search the 265-50's at Tire Rack. They list two, a BFG Radial T/A and a Dunlop GT Qualifier. I really think that you'd like the looks of the 265-50 on the front, since you're running 295-50's on the rear. JMO

Check out Tirerack.com
You can search for tires by size and they have a huge selection in inventory, along with the best prices I've seen anywhere.

Thanks alot on the feedback. I appreciate it. We seem to have found the same resources. The SP sports are nice, but they do not have 295s. I was looking at tirerack.com for tire sizes across the line. Your opinion helped alot. I think I'll go with the 265/50s.

Nice car, what tire sizes are running on that?

I run BFG Radial T/A 265-50/15s up front and 295-50/15s out back...

15X7 rims on the front and 15X8 on the back...

Its a 66 though. See sig below for pictures...

You don't have a sig. :P

I'd prefer a 245. I currently have 235 and wouldn't want to go any smaller.
