Front or back? Tire sizes you intend to put on the car?

6.25" on 18's on the rear is possible with a 10 inch wheel. 295/50/18 tire.

5.125" on the front is possible with an 18's and a Hotchkis sway bay (A bit narrower than some.) 255/45/18 tire. This is the absolute most B/S in the front. My tires just slightly rub the sway bar at maximum turn but not enough to even mark the tires.

17's should fit the same.

I'm not sure 16's will clear the rear shock tower or the tie rods up front.

Redrum,I'm considering a pair of 17x9's w/5.5" backspace for the front of my 69 Elky protourer project. What are your opinions on this set-up? Tire size will either be a 255/40 or 275/40 on the front.Am leaning towards the 275's,if I think they will fit.
As the car is back-halved and tubbed, rear tire room is not a problem.
