I am putting a harwood fibergalss hood on my 71 malibu. I am thinking that the original hood springs are going to be to heavy duty for the light weight fiberglass hood. What springs from what vehicle could be a better match?. Or is there an after market spring that would be less tension?

they sell springs just for that setup. US body Source , Unlimited.You could also get some from Home Depot. Just measure your s and get some approx length but less tension

Any speed shop can get the hood springs for a glass hood. With the stock springs you will snap off your hood before it closes.
