: Take a look at my new 67 wagon
GSMCGSMC May 20th, 10, 8:54 PM I've been looking for a while and finally found a 67 wagon in my price range. Born at Fremont and resided in Northen California all it's life. It's mostly original paint 92K miles. 283 turbo 350 nom. It's had some paint work on the drivers door and fender and the front seat cover changed, that's all I can find. You'll notice the drivers quarter panel issue. After that happened the original owner never drove it again. It came with the black plates, the rear bumper repaired and replated, every registration from new and the original sales order. Power steering, A/C, Power windows, AM-FM Multiplex. Everything works except the A/C. I want to say thanks to my fellow TC members that alerted me whenever they saw a wagon for sale. Anybody have any turqoise interior parts? I need a couple of things. BillsCamino May 20th, 10, 10:10 PM VERY cool wagon!! Nice find...I'm jealous. would love a '67 5 door...
Too bad it's not '67 Bright Blue...I've got some extra interior stuff.
GSMCGSMC May 20th, 10, 10:32 PM Thanks Bill, I may be tugging on your coat from time to time. I need to get up to speed on wagon parts. I'll need some weatherstrip and a couple of odds and ends. Is there a good wagon parts source out there? Jeff
Jerry Briggs May 20th, 10, 11:03 PM Great find Jeff, looks like it is all there including the hard to find roof rack. Congrats, would love to have on also.
Cam May 20th, 10, 11:37 PM Definitely a jewel in the rough. When I say rough it doesn’t look rough, but it just needs a little TLC. Wow, California car with a/c, power windows, AM/FM with FM multiplex stereo. What a score! What an unusual color combo as well, Butternut Yellow with turquoise interior. The car is certainly a standout in a sea of Super Sports and typical color combos. I like it!
Andy69 May 21st, 10, 1:44 AM oooh, purdy.
how many bones did you shell out, if I might ask?
BillsCamino May 21st, 10, 7:31 AM
Feel free to drop me a line ANYTIME. FYI...Hinshaw's is were I got all my wagon stuff.
GSMCGSMC May 21st, 10, 8:39 AM Andy, my budget was to stay under 10K. I accomplished that including shipping to Louisiana.
Scotch May 21st, 10, 1:07 PM Killer start!
All my interior stuff is gold, so you probably wouldn't want it...(boy, that'd be interesting!)..
I know where to find most of the wagon stuff for '67s. If I can help you out, I will!
What's your vision for the final product?
rpol7966 May 21st, 10, 8:02 PM Man, your wagon's a great score. I've had my '67 since '02. My wagon came form Glendale, Arizona and is totally rust free. It's mostly original with almost every option that was available in '67.
I'd like to share some pictures of it, but have no clue how to transfer the pictures. If anyone would care to post the pictures, I'll E-mail them to you. Tim
PCB67SS May 21st, 10, 8:20 PM Jeff that is a sweet ride.....Appears to be very complete and un wrenched.....Great start and good luck making it yours.......:beers:
chader May 21st, 10, 8:21 PM wow great find. I am trying to do a 67 Beaumont wagon and stay within a reasonable budget, but I can`t see it happening. Canadian car needs lots of rust repair.

Bill I appreciate the comments on my new wagon. I would love to be cleaning it up right now , but, I promised the wife a birthday weekend in your home town. Wish I had time to go car hunting, but first things first. Beach tomorrow and Flounders tomorrow night. Jeff
Scotch May 21st, 10, 10:19 PM Thanks man! Just remember- Everything I did is bolt-on! The only thing welded on my car is the trans tunnel for the T56. But all the suspension stuff (even my new Watts link) is bolt-on. Not cheap, but super-effective, pretty easy to install, and readily available!
Hey- empty your mailbox! LOL!!
GSMCGSMC May 21st, 10, 10:19 PM Guys, thanks for the comments. I plan on straightening out the quarter panel, making the A/C cool, finding some Torq-Thrust wheels and just driving the car for the forseeable future. I would love to clone a L-79.

I remember hearing of a real L-79 67 Malibu wagon. It was Butternut yellow with a 4-speed & factory 4.10 Posi.

chader May 22nd, 10, 11:03 AM I hope this worked for some of Tim's pictures. Nice Car!
PCB67SS May 22nd, 10, 11:20 AM I love it......:D
The grocery getter speed minder set for in town driving..........:beers:
I hope this worked for some of Tim's pictures. Nice Car!
rpol7966 May 22nd, 10, 11:20 AM Thanks Chader for posting the pictures of my wagon. When I first got the wagon, I intended to clone it into a L79. Then I decided to make it more "user friendly" and added a lot of the original options. About the only options I'd still like to add are a remote mirror, third note horn, and a trailer hitch.
I have most all the correct detail items for a L79. Some of them, I bought from Chevrolet when they were still available. That was a long time ago!
Scotch May 22nd, 10, 10:44 PM My wagon was originally the same color combo as Tim's! I kept that off-white color on the bottom of my two-tone job, and used factory gold paint on top to work with the gold interior. Tim's is SO loaded with options though! Mine was a stripper...
chader May 23rd, 10, 9:56 AM I really love this car with all the options. If anyone runs into a rear speaker setuo with or without the radio, please let me know.
GSMCGSMC May 23rd, 10, 5:21 PM I just got a chance to pull the back seat and found the soft trim broadcast sheet. Here are a few pics. Jeff
Shevelle May 24th, 10, 12:08 AM Nice find Jeff! Glad to see you finally found what you were looking for. Keep us updated on the progress!
streetrodder037 May 24th, 10, 8:13 AM looks great, what are your plans, stock or custom. just picked up 66 wagon in march, cali car, can't wait to get started.
1969 El Camino Dan May 24th, 10, 10:31 AM Good looking hauler you picked up, Jeff! Optioned out like a Cadillac. 1967 is my favorite year. Nice to know there are still some out there.
I've got a 1965 Rambler Ambassador Cross Country wagon that I will eventually get around to working on. They are certainly attention-getters these days.
Love those factory wire hubcaps w/ spinners! They were banned by the safety Nazis the next year, never to return.
Killer Hubcaps!!

Thanks Dan, the hubcaps are going to be banned by me shortly. Ha! I like them alright, but they creak like anything. I'm looking for some old style mags to spruce up the wheel wells. You're right about our wagons not being seen much these days. Jeff

Thanks Jaquie, I appreciate the leads you sent me.
chadh5 May 26th, 10, 1:50 PM Great wagons! (all of them!!)
I wish I could get motivated to finish mine. (money too)
markbcvg Jun 5th, 10, 11:29 PM Nice find, Jeff.
The same color combo as mine. As others have stated Hinshaws has many wagon parts. PUI makes seat covers, door panels, headliner and cargo area covers.
This looks like mine before mods and resto. Good luck with it. If you decide to ditch the luggage rack, let me know.
John_Auberry Jun 5th, 10, 11:36 PM sweet
markbcvg Jun 6th, 10, 3:28 PM Jeff, I thought that was Ermine white, it looks like it on my PC. It is yellow?
GSMCGSMC Jun 6th, 10, 3:50 PM Yes, it's Butternut Yellow.
GSMCGSMC Jul 1st, 11, 2:27 PM Guy's I want to show you the changes I've made to my wagon. I really didn't want to lose the original paint aspect of the car but...I had the car painted. I went ahead and cloned a L79 car. Installed a real 67 Chevelle L79 engine I've had for many years and converted it to a bench seat 4 speed. The engine pad still has the original ID stamp. I also added a set of 15" x 7" TorqThrust D's, real gauges, a tilt column and a repro tach . Added a modern music system and I'm done for now.
GSMCGSMC Jul 1st, 11, 2:34 PM A few more shots...
BillsCamino Jul 1st, 11, 2:54 PM Wow...beautiful wagon Jeff!!! Awesome job.
Pete 67 Jul 1st, 11, 3:23 PM Great job on the resto! That looks like one sweet ride!
chevelle67-427wagon Jul 1st, 11, 8:00 PM Super nice. Maybe mine will be done someday.
Paul-ish Jul 2nd, 11, 1:49 AM Looks great  Man I love those wagons.
72SSWagon Jul 10th, 11, 7:38 AM Jeff:
Wow. Great wagon. I just got back from your area yesterday. Went to the Seafood Festival in Mandeville while we where there. They had some amazing cars. Maybe you can show up with the first wagon for the event next year. Congratulations.
By the way, just finishing up a rear quarter panel repair on a 72 which was hit in a similar place on the passenger side. Pretty challenging work but doable. Good luck with this one. Sounds like you got it at a great price and it looks like it's in really nice shape.

John_Auberry Jul 11th, 11, 7:27 PM Looking good!
sambrutay Jul 15th, 11, 10:40 AM was this @ Chevell-a-bration?
Clean Cut Creations Jul 15th, 11, 9:17 PM Looks killer! Lovin' the mods! I am a secret wagon junkie.....Shhhh..Don't tell....
Lovin' the three pedals and four gears in a wagon.......
JimN Jul 18th, 11, 6:55 PM Really nice find. '67 was a GREAT year, and the options are rare. Enjoy the restoration process and post some pics for the rest of us.
GSMCGSMC Jul 18th, 11, 10:44 PM was this @ Chevell-a-bration?
Yes Bruce, I had it at Chevellebration this year. I only wish I could've spent more time hanging around the car instead of hiding under the shade trees.
chadh5 Jul 19th, 11, 5:06 PM Very nice!
Does anyone have a spare interior tailgate access cover they would sell? The big panel that unscrews... not sure what else to call it.
PCB67SS Jul 19th, 11, 5:18 PM Jeff your wagon turned out fantastic......
Really like the period correct L79.........:beers:
