Glad to meet eveybody, I'm from Ohio.
I've had 3 other Chevelles over the years, and this is my first ElCamino, and I love it. I got it 3yrs.ago it has front disk brakes and after checking around I was told them came off a 67 Camaro it has dual calapers and they leak, i was told they quit make them back then cause of this problem, so I'm trying to find out if some thing else works or do I have to replace the whole thing. I really need your guys and gals help on this. Thanks and May GOD Bless! Luis

Luis, they should be able to repair them. Take the caliper off and take it to a reputable brake shop. Have them look at it and give you a estimate. If to far gone they could likely recommend a replacement that will bolt up to your configuration.

Thanks Randy
I've checked with a couple of places and they said they could not guarantee if they would work. I wasn't sure if any other brakes would work off another car or truck, or I would have to put on a new system all together. Thanks again and May GOD Bless!

A regular everday brake shop is probably not going to get involved in sending them out to be relined and rebuilt properly. Replacements are close to $400. Rebuilt with exchange are around $150 each. If you can find a regular brake shop that knows anything about them. So it's as easy as buying new ones and bolting them on. If you don't want the ones you have send me a PM. I may be interested. Thanks.

You can send the calipers to one of the well known rebuilders who will insert stainless steel sleeves.

Lone Star Brake Co
Stainless Steel Brake Co

Compare prices.

They all do good work.

If they are in fact 67 or 68 Camaro brakes they are worth a lot of money to someone restoring an early Z28 Camaro.

They are not exclusive to Z's. And don't trade them in to the vendors as a core.

Greetings from Arizona
take down the numbers on calipers and go to your local parts house and see what they are and then you know...my 67 Elcamino has disc's off Chevy S10, and they can be exchanged at reasonable price. J

The 4 piston calipers came out in 67 but I don`t think they were camaro specific. They could just be factory disc brakes for the el camino. I believe the 4 piston calipers were used untill 68 then they went to the single piston design in 69.

4 pistons were a hi preformance upgrade for a 67 and worth a few hundred dollars today
