I know this has been asked before but I did a serch and can't seem to find the answer. I"m looking for a set of mag style wheel covers for a 65 chevelle. If I remember correctly someone said there was a difference between the 65 and 66 style. Could someone explain the difference between the two or better yet if someone has the correct part # that would be great.

The diff is in the size and shape of the holes in the painted part.

I have them on my 66 - "look so nice".also a set of rear foxcraft skirts to add that cruiser look .from what i know the 65 and 66 are the same cover(part number 3872861)with small vent holes(black part) and a tapper edge center cap.the 67 to 68 have large vent holes and a flat/squared edge center cap, same goes for the 69 to 71 http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

I just went to my garage and looked at the set that I have but could one of you guys tell me the size of the vent hole so I can measure mine. Also if you look at the back of the center cap on the wheel cover it looks like there's a # 551851 stamped on it , looks like a casting #. Thanks for your help and any more you can give me . Also if you happen to know where there 's a set available I'd be forever grateful.

thanks for your reply getta66. I knew about the set on ebay and was bidding on them but got beat out the last second. I guess if you read the post in bench racing I'll have to learn how to become a sniper. I took mine apart and started cleaning them but I'l just have to keep looking for another set, anyway thanks again for you help.
