Just an FYI for anyone that is using or needs to use an aftermarket throttle cable. When I did my conversion, I went with a Spectre brand one. The price was right and it did what I needed.
On Saturday I was at the track, and on the 5th pass, the pedal end of the cable popped out of the plastic bushing/holder that pops into the pedal lever end. This was right on the line luckily. I undid the cable at the TB and ran it back through. Didn't look like it could pull through, so I chalked it up to fluke. Made another pass, then it happened again. We fixed it there using a wire nut with the closed tip cut off, thich was enough to block it from pulling through again. The pedal end of the cable has a nice large nub which was fine, just the plastic bushing got bored out a little.
If I had one, a small metal rivet washer would have been enough to prevent this, since it would have kept the cable end from pulling through. Since this was a TPI style, the built in spring did it's job and I wasn't out anything but some embarassment and 2 wasted trips through the staging lanes to not get a run in.
FYI.
