Hey guys, currently collecting parts for my pro touring build and came across a good deal on a set of TRZ tubular upper and lower front control arms. Was wondering if any one has any expeirence with these on a primarily street driven car? They seem to be aimed more a drag racing applications. Thanks in advance.

The TRZ arms are really nice pieces and are very popular with drag racing crowd. However, I personally wouldn't run those on a vehicle that is primarily street driven. I've seen them stand up to some brutal wheelstands at the track which some would argue means they are plenty strong for the street. With all the potholes and such, especially up North, I'd be looking at something a little beefier. Also, the weight savings probably isn't an issue for a street car so a set of SpeedTech, DSE, GlobalWest might be a better choice.

TRZ arms are good products and are not much differant than other brands. They are lighter than some due to being made of Chrome Moly tubing. I purchased a set for my Chevelle which is a street strip car.

Not knocking their product at all but TRZ A-arms are drag race oriented arms designed primarily for weight savings. Street/strip applications would probably be fine for limited use but I would hesitate using them in any type of Pro Touring build where handling is a primary goal...

^^ BMR makes nice quality stuff too. Style is on par with GW, SpeedTech, etc that I mentioned. I forgot they have A-body stuff and left them out of my list :clonk:. They even have G8 stuff that one of these days I might *need* :D

We are lucky to have good vendors for our A-Bodies (BMR included!). I went with some new guys here in SoCal because I wanted to have some input in the design. I helped Mike and Kash prototype the rear LCAs and UCAs in my 66. My car is not fully dialed-in yet (waiting on BMR front springs actually) but I was quite comfortable and fast driving up in the canyons. I loaded up the suspension a lot through the short and long sweepers. Surprisingly I didn't experiencing the top rear end binding problem everyone speaks about. I'm running rubber bushings up there but many recommend going all the way with Johnny joints. I may try these (http://shop.c3fab.com/GM-A-BODY-64-67-FULLY-BOXED-ADJUSTABLE-WITH-JOHNNY-JOINTS-GMA-6467-FBLAUJJ.htm)at some point. Anyway, just another option for you to consider.

Some links are still broken because they just got their site up and running.

and... i'm not making any money on this. just a happy customer here. :hurray:

they are popular with the dirt track crowd down here. for the price considered using them on my chevelle. but got concerned about the jam nuts coming loose on the street....
