I need to know what rear end/gears a posi with GM part no 3997990 will fit. I am putting a posi into my 65 Chevelle 12 rear end with 3.73 gears.

Okay, I'm no GM parts guy but I do have a parts book..In group 5.510 it shows your part number 3997990 to fit a:
71-75 Vega,
71,72 Passenger, Camaro (exc Sta Wag)
71,75 Camaro
72,75 Nova
73,75 Chevelle
It is for a Warner Unit 6 1/2" dia. ring gear.
I think you may still need a posi unit if that was supposed to fit a 12 bolt. Sorry!

Bill, Lookin' at that piece on Ebay are ya? I checked it out at the dealer. It's for a Vega. Forget it pal.
I'm lookin' for a 3 series carrier for my 12 bolt. I'll let you know if I find a source for good and cheap ones. Would appreciate the same from you.
