I'm looking at wheels that are 5.5 back spacing, with a 275/60/15 Comp TA will I have any trouble with this on my 71? It looks like it will go, just wondering if anyone runs this much on the back. The wheels are 9 inches wide.

Wally,
Wes, myself, and several others are running 5 3/4 Backspacing on 15x10's and that's about are much as you can go without rubbing on the inner wheelwell housing/frame or lower shock mount.
Run 5 1/2 to 5 3/4 if you are trying to stuff in the biggest possible tire.
Wes and I are both running 325/50-15 BFG Drag radials with no problems. Wes has a 70 and I have a 69. I believe that 71's should be the same.

After I posted the question I did a search on the subject, should have done that first, and found lots of info that says what you are saying. I'm buying wheels for my son's Xmas present, the Weld Racing Pro Star XP, 15x9 for the back with 5.5 back spacing. I like these better than the regular wheel, made a little heavier than the racing wheels and on these heavy a$$ cars that is a good thing. Thanks for the input.
