Zirgo has a sale for a 16", 3000 cfm fan. I want to try it on my 68. 396, cam, 373 gear 4-speed. 4 core rad. How do you think this will work? Is it big enough?

In the 69-72 Era. 307s used a 19" fan blade, Big Blocks used a 18" 772 fan blade with a eaton clutch. Using a stock fan shroud with the wrong size fan blade may cause cooling problems.
Engine cooling problems do show up at times when everything is in perfect order. Putting together a cooling system with mis-matched parts will often bring up the saying " Pay me now or pay me later, But your gonna PAY ME "
On the interstate you DO NOT need a fan blade, Unless you never plan on being in traffic, Go with your idea. Do a little more research and ask some other folks and gather more info then Make your move.

I have a 16" Spal fan on mine with no shroud. It seems to cool fine. But then I have a 350 not a 396. I also have a four core Alumitech radiator so it may not be a fair comparison.
