They have an Oval shaped lug hole and a little label that says (ET II) but i couldnt find anything. please help as i need to find some center caps for these bad boys. Thanx in advance.

68Nomad Dec 2nd, 02, 12:51 AM No they look more like the classic 5's. Almost exactly torq thrusts but i cant find a picture of vintage torq thrusts. and the ET II is in a little oval above the stud holes. The stud holes themselves are not circles they're (__) ish. thank you for the good shot though.
E-T made a wheel pretty close to the Torque thrust. The oval lug hole is a typical trade mark of E-T wheels as this allowed them to fit different lug patterns (ford/chev etc). Unfortuneatley people had problems with the oval washers not holding up well. I had a set of E-T slotted mags that decided to fall off one time when I was a kid in high school on my Plymouth Duster. I haven't run a set of unilugs since. Is this what your wheel looks like(besides the oval lug hole)?

riskyvt Dec 2nd, 02, 2:15 PM UNILUG WHEELS ??? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/eek.gif http://www.chevelles.com/forum/eek.gif
If they do indeed have oval washer holes that allow two or three different stud patterns, these wheels can get you killed! I had a Kelsey-Hayes ET Unilug wheel depart my car while doing 50MPH, proceed past me up a hill, come to a stop, then roll back down the hill right at me! Luckily, I had enough time & control to pull the car onto the shoulder & run down the hill after it. Once I got close enough, I kicked it off course into the ditch.
What I would have paid to see that on tape!
All kidding aside, I believe this type of uni-lug wheel to be the most unsafe piece of aftermarket equipment around. Kind of like putting a $10.00 plastic helmet on your noggin and then running the 1320 at over 200MPH. Hope yours aren't this style...

Billys68SS Dec 3rd, 02, 10:02 PM ACE841.... I have a set of wheels sorta like that. No center caps. They are aluminum or magnesium, whichever, not really sure. I do not know what they fit as I havent tried them on anything in many years. I have had them since the late 80's. The next time I am home I will take my digital camera and get a pic and see if anyone can identify them for me.
Phil Mullaly has the dope on these things. I have an ad from 1970 or 71 that features the full line of ET wheels, but since my scanner isn't scanning I can't oblige you. They predate the unilug design. My brother had ET 5-slots on his '72 Celica back in the mid '70s (he had an 8-track in it too.) Don't fret, he also drove a '71 Monte Carlo.

67 BIG BLOCK Dec 5th, 02, 5:36 PM I agree with many of the other replies. If they are the oval "uni-lug" mags, your better off making a coffe table or bar stools out of them! I had a set in High School (20 years ago) and they ALWAYS needed to be tightened. One time the rear drivers' came off at 30 MPH, the second time I was able to stop with only one lug left holding the rim on! Needless to say, that was the end of those rims! Be safe, don't use them.
68Nomad Dec 5th, 02, 6:22 PM i am poor and have only 3 hubcaps. and they apparently never failed my father. but they will serve me better than my current worn and weary rims. so untill i can afford some 15x10 torq thrust 2's and some 15*7's as well i belive i will use them, besides. as long as i keep em torqued down properly i should be ok. it's not like i race the beast or anything. Think me foolish but ya can't beat free. And besides if you risk nothing you have nothing to gain.
