I have been smelling gas, when I fill mt tank, on my 71. Never thought much, figured it was what old cars do, because years ago that was normal. Put the car in the driveway backwards to work on it, and gas was dripping out of the gas line, right on the tail pipe. The gas line was up against the crossmember, and wore a hole. Could easily not happened if the line was just bent a eight inch away, worth checking the one you guys have.

Good advice...also look at those fuel lines at tank, fuel pump, and filler neck hose. I just change a filler neck on customers 66 Ranchero...orginal and really leaked alot...j
