sleeper67 May 11th, 10, 6:25 PM Nice derek. It looks faster with those wheels/tires, question is, is it faster? Love the pics.
bdc1013 May 11th, 10, 6:50 PM those wheels are a great idea for something to mount slicks on, as the car will be easier to handle with all 4 tires being the same size so you don't push the front wheels with 17x11's in the rear.
stealth71 May 11th, 10, 7:02 PM How did the cars balance feel? What kind of pressure were you running in the tires?
It looks really good going through the cones.
Derek69SS May 11th, 10, 7:14 PM I ran 44psi front and 38psi rear, and both appeared to be scuffing properly. Balance was good, but that lot is known for its lack of grip, and it was too cold and cloudy to get any heat in the tires... also got a pyrometer, and checked tire temps, which showed I need more negative camber. I have another autocross TnT coming up on Sunday so I'll be able play more with the setup then. :)
I have 2 more inches of rubber in front now, and 1.5 more inches in the rear, so it should be considerably faster in the turns... the weight of these wheels has made it noticeably more sluggish in straight-line accelleration though.
-SS454- May 11th, 10, 7:38 PM Great pics. What tire/rim package did you have before, and whats the specs on the current?

My "old" wheels (still use them for street driving and car shows/cruises) are 17x7 and 17x8 Billet Specialties Vintec with 235/45 and 255/45 Kumho Ecsta MX
New autocross wheels are 17x9 Cragar D-window with 265/40 Dunlop Star Spec.
Randy 67EC May 11th, 10, 10:22 PM Cool shots, love seeing the old cars out there killing tires. BTW, what is "cold"? :p
