Installed my new Alumitech Radiator from Don tonight. I have to thank him because being in Canada he had to take an hour out of his day to take the radiator to the post office an hour away to ship it to me correctly. See if Summit will do that!

Anyway, went in very nice. I didn't paint it because I like the look of aluminum and I am not going for stock that is for sure but I wanted one that fit and still looked good at the same time. Did it cost more? Maybe a bit, but worth it IMO.

And to answer my own question of about a week ago it holds about the same amount of anti-freeze as my factory 4 core. So you save about 20 pounds from the radiator being aluminum. But I also got a 632 to cool down so I think this will work all around better.

Here are some pics:

New one beside the 37 year old factory one.

The upper internal rad trans cooler line was about 2 inches higher, but no big dea.

looks very nice.i notice your fan is into the shroud further than mine. i would like to hear how well it cools.
i also know what you mean about some vendors taking the extra time to ship correctly.
mail is the way to go to get into canada. i find the brokerage fees high from fedex and usps. i get nailed from some vendors that want to use fedex only.

Perhaps because I have a long spacer on my plastic fan. Haven't run the car yet with the new rad.

And as to shipping, yes I agree. I have cancelled orders from Chevelle parts suppliers in the US because they would only ship Fed ex with a $60 charge just for shipping, not duty or anything, for a switch that weighs maybe 50 grams (and ounce and a half). When with USPS it would cost $10 or $15.

I too have been impressed with the customer service from Don. Called him and he answered the phone himself, not only answered my questions but gave advice that I later found to be 100% accurate about potential future issues I was able to avoid. I purchased an overflow tank from him that was better quality than I expected. On other issued, he actually saved me money at his own expense (loss) to insure i didn't over-solve a problem. He's done this level of assistance for others here too over the years. Don "gets it" when it comes to quality and service.

James, if I recall correctly, Don told me some stock radiators had a smaller (shorter) trans cooler. That is why your upper line was off some. I learned the same when I installed my Alumitech. I love it; keeps my near 600 horse 489cid cool in 95+ air. When driving on the open highway, my electric fans (set at 170*) will hardly ever come on. Good choice!
