: 245/60 vs 295/50 on a 15x8 rim

Winters here, and my back tires are just about bald- time for some new tires. I want to step up in size a little bit- currently have 235/60 on the back.

Which would be better- 245/60 or 295/50. They have pretty much the same diameter- only the 295s will be wider. Do you think that would look okay on a 15x8 rim(BFG's website says 8" rim is the smallest for 295/50s), or should I just stick with the 245s?

thanks for any opinions.
<edit>
This is only for the rear tires! The fronts will remain the same at 225/60

I have been running 295-50/15 BFGs for 8+ years on 15X8 rims... Not problems...

They look pretty beefy...

I am running the same set-up. I love the look, very aggressive. I went with Goodyear Eagle GTII tires. The 295/50-15 on 15x8 w/4.5 backset rallies in the back. It fills the well perfect, plus it is a short tire (26.8") that runs good with the 3.73 in the rear. I run the same 15x8 4.5 backset up front with 235/60 15. A little stretched so they look shorter. Normally a 26" tall tire.

THanks for the help and the pics guys! As soon as my car comes back from the bodyshop, I'm getting a set of those for the back!
I'll post some pics with the results!

Thanks!
