: What size in front?

I'm putting 275/50 26" radialT/A on a 15X8 rim in the back. My question is what should I go with in front. The car is mainly for the street but mostly straight farm roads so I'm looking to go somewhat smaller in front. It's a '72 BB with a 4.10 gear.

A 215 or 225 50-series (23.5" and 23.9") on a 7" rim or the same size in 60 series (25.2" and 25.6") would work. For the rougher roads, the 60 series might be a better choice.

Thanks Dale, the 60 sounds right. My front end is lowered--BB with SB springs, so the 50 kinda sounds too low. I'll have to look at it. Is there a good way to measure that?

You might want to consider using a 215/70. I have this on my 72 chevelle and it drives real nice and handles good. I believe the height is about 25" tall and the width is 7". But, my chevelle is a small block, still this should fit in the front without rubbing.

I have a 69 BB and I have 245/60 up front with no problems on a 15x8 rim. Then I have 295/50 in the rear on a 15x10. I think that the the best bet would go with the 60 up front and keep and the 50 in the back. Also when you are measuring for the rims check the backspacing before you do anything. You don't want anything to rub. Hope this helps.
