I have a 69 chevelle and I want to get some tall tires for it. What is the tallest and widest tire I can fit in stock wheelwells? It has 14x7 rally wheels and a 4.56 gear.
thanks

I have no idea but would like to say look into 80 series tires.

I ran Firestone 9.50-14 Mud&Snow tires on my '67 First Gen. years ago on the stock 14" x 6" steel wheels by raising the rear up with coil overs..

They changed my speedo from 70 to about 82!! How do I know, the Man nailed me one evening when the speed limit was 65 after dark!! pdq67

You might consider BF Goodrich TA radials in this size - 255 - 70 X 15. I saw them on a 70 Chevelle and looked like they fit just fine, but you'd have to go with 15 inch rims.

I'm running 275/60-15 on 15x7 inch wheels.
The tires are about 28 inches tall.

On my 68, that pretty close to as big as I'd go.
