Fuel line coming through the firewall? Is that safe?
317millhand May 5th, 10, 10:09 AM Heres what mine looked like when I bought it. As you can see several changes need to be made. The only thing Im keeping is the stainless ARP bolt kit. Notice the custom flame job on the intake that took me forever to remove. I plan on getting a a billet serpentine kit(not sure which one yet), new valve covers and air filter, smooth firewall, electric fans, ditching the brake booster, and using a vintage air setup with the hoses hidden in the fender. I will also be painting everything in the engine bay body color and trying to find a good way to hide all my wiring. Im thinking some sort of silver for the car, so do you guys think it would look cheesy if I painted my block body color as well? Hopefully, Ill have some pictures to post in the spring 2011 picture book. http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/317millhand/Chevelle%20build/photobucket003.jpg

blwnrat May 5th, 10, 8:33 PM Fuel line coming through the firewall? Is that safe?
It goes to a fuell regulator mounted in the top right cowl opening then goes though a -8 braided line down and out in the bottom of the engine compartment and back under the car. At no time does it ever come in the car or exposed to heat or anything it's a very safe set up and just keeps everything out of site and neat looking. Went though a lot of planning to hide all fuel and electrical wires for a neat and clean look.

Did you keep you fuse block mounted in the stock location or move it somewhere so that the firewall plugs were deleted or hidden? Im also contemplating on hiding all my wiring, but already have an AAW Classic update kit to replace the wiring in my 67.

Randy Most of the looms are moroso and some stuff I had the wires are taylor. Its a matter of patience as with anything.
blubu May 6th, 10, 3:43 PM you missing a fuel line. :)
YES I am I have not found a suitable replacement yet.
I used a after market fuel pump and the way its clocked
I need a 45 degree fitting to match the new fuel line to tank
I could use a rubber hose but at this point that seems like a waste.
I am in the process of making a braided fuel line. The fitting is a hang up.
blubu May 6th, 10, 3:52 PM I've got to ask Larry Joe "blubu" what was wrong with the car before you started on it. It looked great in the first pic. Also, what color silver is that?
The color is Prowler Silver the car sucked water like a sponge.
Always had. So we pulled the windshield to fix it fell apart
So I ordered a new windshield. In the process it need some floors
So we pulled it off frame after gutting it. I did not like the frame.
So I bought one from a Pontiac had it powder coated and new suspension
Then it got out of hand. The body was on a jig the frame was over there
Ended up seven years later a work in process replaced all flooring from
Windshield tray to back bumper. Its been expensive and very interesting
It does prove one thing. I have several trophys from shows when car was
Blue. You never know what you have truly got till you open it up. lol
Trophyman May 6th, 10, 5:30 PM Tony,
Thank you for your time and effort.

I dont know why this looks so cool, but it does. More pics please.

It was considered bad luck.
Looks good Bro. :)
Turbos10 Jul 18th, 10, 9:45 AM Mine is nothing fancy. Still working on getting the new A/C and heat installed. I decided to do a "no-bling" just clean look, however I like color contrast so I decided on not painting the intake and going silver on the factory script valve covers.

68KMENO Jul 18th, 10, 8:54 PM http://i617.photobucket.com/albums/tt257/blownrat/Chevelle022.jpghave not uploaded new pics but this is from last year but it will do
I really hope between last year & this one you got the FUEL line out of the passenger compartment !!
even if its just in the cowl area ...... the cowl vents are a straight shot into the passengers
either that Or its a trailer queen & you NEVER intend to drive it !!! that's INSANE an using braided line too ...... you do know it crack's an breaks just like regular rubber fuel line
only difference is you can't see its going bad because of the covering ....
you have a bitching car it would be a shame to BBQ it an everyone inside !!
