Can anyone recommend a cleaner/polish for weld wheels. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I've found that mother's chrome wheel polish works best. The cleaner will turn black, just wipe it off w/clean cloth towels and go over it until your satisfied. I bought my mother's from autozone (local parts store). Worked on my rims for years.

Busch Aluminum Polish.....I have tried everything and in my opinion this works the best. Where are you in MD? If you live close come by and you can see for yourself.

The best stuff for polishing any kind of metal is Eagle One's Never Dull. It is a wadding compound that looks like cotton. It takes a little elbow grease, but if you rub the same spot for a few minutes it will shine like new. Also removes minor rust or other blimishes. And its cheap.

I've always had Nevr-Dull around the house, even before "Eagle One" took over the stuff.

I used it on many surfaces around the home as well as trim on the car. I wasn't sure whether it would be safe for Alloy wheels or not. I want to be sure before I try it.

It turns out that my wheels are factory clear coated (even though the salesmen at the "Performance Store" don't know about it), so Nevr-Dull, Mothers Aluminum Polish, and other polishes would screw up the clear coat. The wheel supplier is selling a very expensive version of Nevr-Dull to use on the wheels. I won't risk it. It says on Mothers' site that if you can see a prismatic effect on the wheels when looking closely, there's a clear coat. The prismatic effect is pretty obvious on mine.

I ended up going with Eagle One Aluminum Wheel Wash, which is pH Neutral and won't damage clear coated or bare aluminum or alloy wheels. I also put a coat of Carnauba over the clear coat to serve as a "sacrificial coating" (picked this up off a couple of detailing tips sites).

When the clear coat goes yellow on me, I'll buff it off and shoot the wheels with clear engine enamel. I'm sure the factory clear coat isn't gonna last forever. I'll be happy if it lasts a few months.

It's on the same shelf with the other wheel polishes and stuff. I've seen it at WalMart and O'Reilly Auto Parts. I'm sure most auto parts stores carry it.
