I've researched a few threads but didn't really find the answer to my question; I have a '66 Malibu with a 283. I am currently installing after market a/c, dual electric fans from Maradyne, installing a new water pump, pulleys and thermostat. The radiator is fairly new and will be flushed to prevent any issues.

I'm not sure what thermostat to go with. I know I want a 180 (Stant) but not sure what this Superstant stat is? Does this really work better than a standard themostat? If so, I'll pick one up and put it in. Thanks in advance.

The difference between the two are the quality of metals used. The more expensive one is suppose to be more temp. accurate and last longer. At least that was how it was explained to me when I worked in auto parts.

It is not something that would make a difference to the degree of say a high flow thermostat.

Look at Jeg's for the Stewart #301 thermostat.
See if that fits your needs.
