I recently removed the ac firewall box and inside heater box, from my 70' Chevelle. I'm building a 540 street/strip vehicle, and wanted to free up some firewall space. If I can't live without ac, I go aftermarket down the road.
Just curious, is there much demand for such used OEM ac components? If so, what $ value, can I put on these parts? Box assembly also includes, POA , and TXV valves. This is not an ad, ....just trying to establish value. Thanks

There are probably more of those taken out than people that want them. But, they do get damaged during engine changes, so there will always be a few looking for the box or the components. I suppose that if I wanted to buy one, $20 would be a fair price, if everything is there.

I've seen the complete assembly go for $100-150 in nice shape.
The evaporator itself is over $150 new and I usually charge $50 for a good used POA valve.
The TXV may be worth a few $ to someone doing a "correct" restoration if it's good. Most replacement valves have a much longer sensing tube and the excess has to be coiled up. Functionally they are identical, but they look a bit sloppy.
Back in the day many folks butchered those parts to remove "all of that unnecessary crap". Now, the same folks that used to do that (like me) are older and want the AC. The demand for those parts is going up as us fogeys are restoring these cars.
If I just had the assembly laying around I would put it in the Classifieds for $125/offer and be happy with $100.
