: Lug nut torque - IROC Replica wheels?

I just got a set of 8" x 16" '86 IROC replica wheels for my Elky. They are chrome plated aluminum and came with no specs for how tight to torque the lug nuts, which are the broad-shouldered "bulge" type.

Anybody got any suggestions on how tight to torque them? (I tried some searches, but struck out.)

Thanks folks.

Torque is more dependant on studs than on the wheels. The Camaros and Firebirds used larger metric studs and nuts, and spec is 90 ft-lb. Trying to torque to 90 ft-lb on the original 7/16-24 studs that are on our cars will probably result in something breaking (torque spec of 65 ft-lb for the 7/16-24 studs).

If you've changed to the larger metric studs, go for 90 ft-lb, but if you're still running stockers I'd stick to 65.
