I have 15X8 rims and air shocks what is the largest tire I can get in the wheel well with out modification.

Whats the backspacing for those wheels? Do you plan to use the air shocks to raise it over the tires, if so you can get about anysize tire that will fit the wheel if you raise it high enough..
Do a search, I just went through this before ordering wheels and tires for my 70, there is a lot of info here. Use search words like Backspacing, 70, tires.

I'm going to have to recommend against the air shocks on this one.

On my '71, i have 15x8's with 4.5" of backspacing, with 295-50-15's. Every now and then the passenger side will rub, but it's not bad, and i dont feel like rolling the fender lip.
Check your backspacing before you buy any tires.
