I have a 1966 Chevelle...
I'd like to run my stock painted steel wheels with the dog-dish/poverty caps and maybe redlines, but I was thinking of swapping to disc brakes up front...
I have an extra set of the tall spindles/12" rotors and would like to use those...
Does anybody know of a GM factory steel wheel that will clear the brakes AND allow the use of these older style center caps?

not sure on your exact wheels, but my friend has the 12" brakes on his 67 GTO with 15s

The 15" steel wheels from a 77-87 (?) Caprice should work for you. Don't use ones from a wagon or police car/heavy duty suspension model, as they have a 5" bolt pattern. They may have come in both 6" and 7" widths, as some are deeper than others. I don't think that the later model Caprice (88?-up) wheels have the hubcap retaining 'bumps' that the dog-dish hubcaps use. IIRC, the pre-disc brake wheels have three bumps, and the disc brake wheels have four, but the same hubcaps will fit on both.

try some of the S10 wheels they would still be 14's but they fit with the S10 brakes and i put a 67 dog dish cap on mine and it fits.

Thanks everyone,
especially CC67... I think I will have to take a trip to the junkyard and bring one of my hub caps with me...
Stan65,
Thanks, but I already have most of the pieces for both a stock Chevelle disc and the tall-spindle B-body setup...

i guess i didn't get my point across. what i was trying to say was that the S10 wheels clear the S10 brakes (disk) so i would assume they also clear the chevelle disks. and that the 66-67 dog dish hubcaps fit the S10 wheels
sorry,Stan

Thanks for clearing that up Stan...
I do have the tall spindles already, but I also will have the Chevelle disc setup when I swap my other Chevelle to the tall-spindles...
14-inch rims aren't too bad...
Basically, I have a Chevelle I am going to sell... It needs brakes, and I thought that disc might be a better selling point. Its a non-original-motor, but a real SS car... so I don't know which way to go...
