I have a fan clutch with the following number on it:
27050480. I'm trying to figure out if its the HD fan clutch or the standard one.
Thanks,
Brian

If you get no responce post a pic of back and front of the fan clutch ro see if we can then tell if its a std duty or hd fan clutch.
The hd fan clutches have more fin area then std duty does, severe duty clutch has a ton of fin area all being thermostatic type fan clutches.

No matter what you were told thats a std duty fan clutch which in some cases isnt up to the task of properly cooling a bbc esp on a hot day in traffic.
The HD thermostatic fan clutches have more cooling fins on them.
Here are pt#'s for Hayden/Napa hd thermostatic fan clutch for sbc/bbc motors with long wather pumps.
