275/ 60's or 50's would look nicer.... you wont have any problem with the 225 70s

Ah man!

You have a muscle car! Go at least 245's all the way around! The difference is quite noticeable, I had friends at school saying "Oh! You took the wide wheels off!" when I went down to 225's from 245's. I think that 245's should fit no problem. Just use a site like http://www.randysringandpinion.com and its calculators to make sure you get the same height as to not throw your speedo off. IMO, you will be much happier with a little more tire in your application. I've checked your website out a couple of times.

Sorry it took me so long to get back!

I would defintly go with 245s! They will fit on those 8" wheels no problem, and they aren't wide enough to cause problems. Your 225/70/15 will be 27.4" high. The 215/65/15 will be 26" tall - and I prefer the 26", it will help shorten your ratio up - what rear gears do you have? I have had 245/60/14's on with my S10 3.08s and I like them real well, but I have an overdrive tranny. I think that a little shorter tire will probably help your 307 turn 'em over some as well as quicken low-end acceleration slightly.

So, it comes down to how many RPM difference will a different diameter tire make. Not much, at least not in a one inch increments. I just checked at the Hoosier site that you talked about elsewhere and they have your tires in 255/50/15's - 27", and 235/60/15's - 26" tires. You could run the wider, slightly taller ones on the back and the slightly skinnier shorter ones on the front to give it a mean, kinda raked look. The 255s would most likely fit all the way around with the correctly backspaced wheel (I don't know what this should be), but if you were worried at all about rubbing you could still run the 235s. JMHO. I like the raked look, myself. I am just 18 and new to this too, but I do have three sets of wheels for my S10 http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif, but they are all older (like 1970's) and not what I really want http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif. If you have any other questions feel free to drop me a line, and I will do my best.

Hey thanks alot,
i was actually looking into getting a 1-2 inch drop in the front to give it that raked look. but it never crossed my mind that i could just go with a taller tire in the back. You just saved me about 120 dollars! lol thanks!
you helped me out a $hit load thanks a bunch
