I have 15x7 rims now on my car but like the look of the 8" rim in the rear I run a 275-60-15 and the fronts 235-60-15 If I go to 15x8 rims at all 4 will they rub? and will it be a problem when I upgrade to 12" B car spindles?
Thanks

I think the stock 15X8 ralleys will not work great for the back, and I don't think they will work at all for the front, especially with the 12" B-car spindles (I think they ad some track, moving the wheels out slightly).
The 15X8 might work out back, but utilizing no-where-near the largest tire size...
I run 295-50-15s on the back of my 66 Chevelle, with no lip modifications...
I had the wheels custom offset by Wheel Vintiques out of Fresno Calif... I got them about 7-8 years ago, but they weren't much more than ordinary ralley, cost wise...
I don't recall the offset/backspacing, but I was slightly off anyway (rubbed the insides) and had to use spacers...
The wheels use the stock caps and I use 15X7 trim rings all around...
My only complaint is that the wheels are different on the back side, and while the stock 15X8 would just clear my rear disc swap, the Wheel Vintiques would not...
I run stock 15X7s with 265-50/15s up front with no problems... but I have discs from a 1972 Chevelle - next year I am switching to the 12" B-car spindles...

I appreciate your time in answering my question. I'm curious on a couple of things you use dthe fleetwood rear caliper mounting brackets? which calipers did u end up using? and how did u get the Ebrake to work. That will be next years project --along with getting a chevy 12 bolt--mine has an olds 12/10 and I'm not going to do rear discs on it. But also the tire sizes u run are quite a bit bigger than mine. I was wondering if I stay at my same size will the 8" rims work I like the look with the big 8" deep trim rings.I'm going to wait to buy any new rims until at least the 12" swap is done. Are you going to use aftermarket UCA's? I keep trying to compare ideas...I think I'm goignto use the Global West arm rather than hotchkiss the GW 2nd generation arm seems to have a lot more details worked out...Thanks

I haven't completed the swap yet... Because of the wheel clearance problems, I just put the drums back on for now... I can't really afford new wheels/tires at this time... For the Caddy swap, I had 1978 Seville brackets, but they require notching one of the shock mounts to pass the e-brake cable through... The 96 Camaro rear discs looked to be a cleaner swap, but thats where the clearance issues were...

I will probably go with the GW arm (and thinking about their lower arm too!). I am not going to go crazy trying to get the car to handle like a racecar, but want the improvements in handling and braking, and good looks (otherwise I'd think about trying to use the stock arm with offset shafts)...
I had discs off a 1972 Chevelle right now, and they work fine... I rebuilt and installed them about 8 years ago, so I was thinking it might be time for the change...
