I am thinking about putting 15 inch wheels on my 65 Malibu SS (327 - 250hp - 4 spd.). Car is stock height in front - drum brakes and has Chevelle Station wagon springs in the rear- height about 1.5 inch higher.
For now I want to use regular GM wheels. I've checked back through the prior posts and most of the discussions have been on aftermarket wheels and on later year Chevelles.
Does anyone have any information on 15 inch GM wheels that would be interchangeable with my 65? Also any recommendations on tire sizes to use? Any other tips or information would be appreciated.
Thanks

I've had 15" Chevy rally wheels with 235x60-15s all the way around on my stock height 65 without any problems whatsoever. 245s could have went problem-free but 255s would have been pushing it.

I've also had 15" early-70s Z/28 style 5-spoke steel rims also. Once again, problem free with 235s and most likely 245s.

I have 275-60Rx15's on 15x8 Rally Wheels with 4-1/2" backspacing. No problems.
