: TC website problem
Mr69 Apr 27th, 10, 7:36 AM I'm seeing something rather disturbing.
When I click on the usual links on this website, the page is disappearing and then coming back up. Sometimes two times. It displays the page, then the page goes blank, then it comes back up again, all the while I am seeing all kinds of activity in the bar below and sometimes the page disappears again.
This has never happened before.
I see all kinds of junk in the bar down below.
googleheads
ad.doubleclick
tacoda or something
it all flashes so fast it's hard to make out.
I've deleted all cookies. deleted files. cleared history. Ran a virus scan and deleted all cookies.
what is going on? Is this site getting cluttered with tracking junk?
Why is the screen going blank? Like it is being tracked.
VERY ANNOYING:mad:
anyone else experiencing this?
Mr69 Apr 27th, 10, 8:18 AM I see now it's only doing it thru Mozilla Firefox
????????????
hmmmmmmm???
Got here thru IE using BING and no problems
Finally Apr 27th, 10, 11:28 AM Started happening to me yesterday too, only with Firefox.
Running Web Ad Blocker and Ghostery on FF. I do not see those errors/issues
Mike Apr 27th, 10, 2:36 PM Running Ad Blocker and Ghostery on high speed internet (my home connection) does limit what you see ,but same programs on slower connection (I'm traveling and on dial up) still shows them in the bar.
Mr69 Apr 27th, 10, 7:33 PM Try logging on thru Firefox and see what happens.
Some serious tracking going on......

Is the site still doing this to you? When you say "the usual" links, what are these specifically?
VERY ANNOYING:mad:
Can't argue with you on that.
However, the stuff you see in the status bar about googleads and as1.verticalscope and so on is not the cause. They've been there all along.
Thanks... Don

The usual links seem to be forum headings and a post. From what I can see it loads the screen, stops, then is downloading from googleheads.g,doubleclick then the screen refreshes again. Very annoying. I may not have it right because it doesn't happen every time and the browser is downloading stuff from all over the web, amazing the screen every finishes loading.
BlueSS454 Apr 28th, 10, 11:16 PM It's doing it to me too. It's only been since that autoguide thing at the bottom of the forum index showed up. Why is that there anyways?

That's from the googleads.g.doubleclick I mentioned, looks like maybe that's it.
Mr69 Apr 29th, 10, 8:06 AM seems to be cured now huh???

No, it comes and goes. Depends on how long it takes to connect and download from googleads.g.doubleclick.
Mr69 Apr 29th, 10, 4:55 PM I recently did 2 virus scans and quaranteed about 60 diff cookies.
I think that may be what fixed it for me.
Gary S Apr 30th, 10, 4:27 PM It isn't a virus on your computer. I see it on any computer I use. It is all the ads loading, mostly the Google stuff.
Internet has become like TV. You sit through 20 minutes of commercials to see 10 minutes of program.
gwizit May 1st, 10, 2:37 AM Was wondering myself why this site has become so "glitchy"
Then came across this thread and it occurred to me it might be my firefox browser.
So turned ON my other computer and logged in through Internet Explorer, and this site operates flawlessly through IE7.
Just to verify yet again - I turned on another computer running linux & firefox that I never use, and it also seems to have issues with the site seeming glitchy.
So - I guess it has something to do with certain browsers when the page is loading.
Mike May 4th, 10, 12:05 PM Yeah ,I'm getting site going all white while changing pages and also FF crashing - all on just this site ,no others.
Add'l info :5 crashes since I posted the above.
As said ,just on this site -no others.
I've only started seeing this issue since the Autoguide.com ad appeared at the bottom of the pages.
If anybody cares ,it was caused by the latest version of 'Ghostery' for FF.
Deleted it and the issues stopped.
guess Ghostery couldn't keep up with all the new ad's here :D
Found this last Wednesday but forgot to post it.
