I have installed a 454 with turbo 400 and 3:73 gears in a 72 chevelle. would like to know what size tire to run 2200 rpm @ 70 mph on 15" wheels. Also what maximum size on the front without clearance problems.

Richmond gear has a nice tire size and and axle ratio calculator on the wabsite.

Not gonna happen. You would need a 40" tire to turn 2200 rpm at 70 with your combo. You would need an overdrive trans. If you ran a 700r4 your 3.73 would run like a 2.61 in overdrive and you could run a 275/60/15(28" tall) tire to give you that rpm at 70.

I think I've got some John Deere tires that could make that happen. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif
