How come I can't find a SINGLE image anywhere of a 68' with the wire wheel covers on it? Does it really look THAT bad that nobody would use them anymore?

I see them for sale on ebay sometimes. They are usually a bit pricey... What's going on?????

They look cool to me...

Anybody got a pic of a 68 with these on it?
Can anybody explain why they seem so uncommon?

Other than painting them with gold spray paint I cannot think of a way to make those wheels less appealing to human eye. YMMV, and of course everyone is different.

I can remember a time in the late 50s, early 60s when guys thought those were 'tits' on Corvettes; of course those were probably the same white guys who'd rather piss a gall stone than LOWER their cars at the time, as opposed to what's going on today.
what goes around...
