I have a set of 71SS wheels on my 70SS harptop,I interested in getting a wider wheel on back, looks like most of the 70's I seen at Chevellabration were 60 series, any help on my offset needed would be greatly
appreciated,I was thinking of a torque thrust
american racing wheel...

To have the wheel centered in a stock 70-72 wheel well you want to have the backspace just slightly more than half the width of the wheel. So...perfect on an 8" wheel would be 4 1/2" backspace, 9" rim = 5" backspace, and so on.

When you get up to the 10" rims the same principle applies, but you still might hit your tailpipe on the inside and rub the inner fender on the outside. Both of these problems can be solved with some simple modifications.
