I never had a problem with the three core in any of our cars. If you are having one re-cored, use the high density core.

Some HD radiators were 4 row. Fit just fine. :thumbsup:

I also am running a Modine 289 3 row and my 402 BB runs about 180 to 190* depending on OAT. You should be ok.

Using a shroud is the key. Not using one is asking for cooling problems. No shroud means the fan will draw air from the side of the space between the fan and core vs pulling air through the core. End product, cooling problems.

Just to prove the point, I'm using a 4 core Desert Cooler radiator plus a shroud and a narrow blade flex fan. My engine has a 180* thermostat and runs at 195* constantly, even with mild pounding.

BTW - the original shrouds were square, about 2.5" deep. I have one but prefered the POS aftermarket plastic one cuz it's round, hugs the fan blades and more effective at channeling the air thru the core.
