Can a 3 row radiator be used for a 396.:confused:

No shroud means the fan will draw air from the side of the space between the fan and core vs pulling air through the core. End product, cooling problems. Just to prove the point, I'm using a 4 core Desert Cooler radiator plus a shroud and a narrow blade flex fan. My engine has a 180* thermostat and runs at 195* constantly, even with mild pounding. BTW - the original shrouds were square, about 2.5" deep. I have one but prefered the POS aftermarket plastic one cuz it's round, hugs the fan blades and more effective at channeling the air thru the core. | ||
