Are the brackets on a 1973 Big Block Power Steering Pump the same as a 1970. I need to order a pump for my friend. This 70 Chevelle has the newer style squarest type. Who ever installed this also put 2 belts from the double pulley to the crank pulley. I think its ready to explode. I need to change it to the 70 style with 1 grove pulley. Not sure if I can use the brackets. Thanks for the help. Always get good info from Team Chevelle. PS Maybe a picture would help.

Unless you are a purist the answer is - Yes, can use those brackets. Although the pumps look different, it's really the reserovoir tin shell that different. The mounting points on the cast pump housing ar the same. It you use a pump that is too new, the fittings for the hose will be metric. Not so with a '73, same threads. Also, those later model remote reservoir tins can be swapped onto most any pump body. Its' a cheap way to make up an early 60's remote PS system.
