Any one running bolt on valve stems? I'm about to put tires on and want to get rid of the rubber ones. Any suggestions?

That's what came with my wheels. No problems yet.

I was thinking about these Longacre stems:

why would there be any problems? that's what's used on bigger trucks and race cars.

I don't like that design, but it's preference. I like the ones, where it pulls through the rim and the nut is on the outside.

Good feedback. Any reason for your opinion?

Summit has some like that:

I really hate chrome.

That's what I have on my aluminum wheels... no problems at all. :)

On my cragars, I'm just planning to use the rubber ones.

I'm using these flush mount versions to clear the bbk. Might be a good option for you if you want to keep your options open in the future.

No problems so far...

I have had this style on my car for 2 years with no problems. If you do use these make sure to use lock tight on the threads so it stays tight. The chrome with the nut on the outside could be used if you use a different color cap & paint the nut & washer with the same color.

Ordered the Longacre ones and I plan on using red loctite. Hopefully they show up before the tires.

They are actually a lot better than the rubber ones. There is really nothing to deteriorate. I put a lot of miles on them with no problems. These Chinese valve stems that are blowing aren't much of an alternative.

Ran bolt on valve stems on the Forgelines I had on my C4 and had another set on a 94 Z28. I never had a problem and they were daily drivers, rain, shine, or snow turning ~20k miles a year. They were on the C4 for 2 years and the Z28 for a year.

My Coys front wheels had those fitted. I had a slow leak in one of them and took it to a handful of tire shops. Without fail, every single person recommended removing them. I eventually gave in and found some low profile 90 degree valves that could still clear the 13" brakes.

Fortunately I haven't had your misfortune. It's a pain to have to use the stem adapter with these but for some of us there's just no other option.

So long story short the valve stems I ordered didn't fit. I think they are for a 5/8" valve stem hole (online and packaging doesn't say anything about the size) and my wheels are the standard size which I think is .453" hole. Not sure if people drill out the hole to get 5/8" stems to fit. I didn't have many options as I was already getting the tires mounted. So I ended up just using high pressure .453" stems. They are pop-in stems but are all metal.

Learn something new everyday. Never knew there were multiple valve stem sizes.
