I am not running them yet but I am planning on putting drag radials on my rims. I am going to use 275/50/R15's. It should give me about 9"'s of tire contact.

What's the width on those wheels Bill?, (inside bead to inside bead surface). I've been running 245-60-14's on my stock 7" wide SS wheels for quite a while. That's about as wide as I'd go on a 7" rim.

I just put 245x60's all around on my '71. My signature picture shows what they look like.

Thanks guys for the pictures of your tires.
noneck, you put 275/60/15 on the stock rim with stock back spaceing and did not have a problem with tire hitting the shock mount or inner frame.i was hopeing to put 255/60/15 on the rear but if you did that, then it is 275/60/15 for me.
thanks,
bill

PLENTY of room with those! I had 15x8 corvette rallys before withthe same tires. I have a spare set of the 72 15x7's that I am going to have widened and hopefully add some backspace to make them the same dimensions as the corvette 15x8's. I may even go to 9" wide or somewhere in between.
