: smoothing fire wall, what's that hole for?

I am smoothing the fire wall of my '65. I can't seem to determine what the hole right above the heater cover is for. Every fire wall pic I see there looks to be a screw protruding out from the hole, maybe a insulator push in clip?

no, but here is a photo of another car...
it's the bolt/ hole right above the heater cover,

Without going out to the garage to look at mine, I would guess thats one of the holes for the firewall insulation pad retainer pins to stick through. There are about 6 or 8 of them across the firewall all the same size.
