I was wondering if anybody's replaced rocker panels on a 2000 grand prix?? I stuck my head under my wifes car for the first timein a while to look at the leaking exhaust and I found that the bottom (flat part) of the rocker panels are SHOT on both sides of the car... The car is pretty clean and we're passing it down to my son who just got his temps and I'm wondering if it's worth fixing, or should I just leave it be..We bought the car new in 2000 so it really doesn't owe us anything, it's been a good car....

No one likes you, Scott... why do you even post??? :D
Short of taking some metal and welding it in, I don't think they make patch panels for that car yet. GM only makes a whole side with the rear quarter panel and roof pillar on it, so thats out of the question.... time to dig the Miller out... and I don't mean the liquid type either.... :o

I traded a 2000 Grand Am Saturday with the same problem. The car looked great body wise until we got it in the shop today, the clading on the rockers hid all the rust. My body man told me Chinese replacements are available, haven't decided what to do with it yet.........

Mix up a bunch of filler, put some rocks in it and slap it up there :D. I'd do what Dave suggested, break out the MIG and weld a patch in it.

Hey Scott, too bad you missed out on the cash for clunker deal. :D
Sounds like a good project to let your son work on since it's his car now.
